Tilly Island is a high bluff island which lies in the heart of the ACE Basin, through which
the Old Chehaw River meanders. Across from Tilly Island lies the public land trust area
known as the Donnelly Wildlife Management Area, comprising 8,200 acres. Numerous
neighboring plantations, including Ted Turner's Hope Plantation, Bear Island, and the
12,000 acre Cheeha Combahee Plantation, have been placed in conservation
easements. This ensures that the views from Tilly Island will remain unchanged for
generations to come. Much of Tilly Island has been placed in conservation easements,
allowing only 14 lots to be developed. There are currently 5 lots available for purchase on
this very special island.
